1962, he received the candidate of technical sciences degree
He was selected as a cosmonaut on

1965, flew as Flight Engineer on
Soyuz 24 and retired on
January 26,
1982.

1989, first Deputy Chief of Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and retired in
May 2000.
Yuri Glazkov is married and has two children.
Glazkov is also known for his
science-fiction novels. One of his books ("Чёрное безмолвие", "The Black Silence" in English) was published in
1987. This book was
illustrated by another cosmonaut,
Vladimir Dzhanibekov.
